I didn't think and surprisingly said George Eliot. I love Austen but have read all her stuff. Eliot, only a few and since Eliot has more and longer books. At least that's my reasoning after the fact :) Plus, somehow I don't think Jane would approve of all those beverages that are available. Not that Eliot would either, but Eliot is a bit more rebellious.
Eliot; I haven't read her works and would have lots to keep me busy. I could probably recite Pride & Prejudice to myself when I got bored with Eliot. ;)
Yeah, I would have to go with George Eliot too. I haven't read her before but if I didn't like her, then I would be more apt to find a way off the island. But if I did like her, then I would have another great author to read and be happy.

george eliot... simple choice, her books were longer and, on a desert island, I've got more time.

Eliot. Hands down.
Rational essay: Austen's too girly.
