Umm, yeah. From an admitted “amateur” biologist’s perspective, here’s how I believe things took place. It was just, NOTHINGNESS, and then:
BIG BANG → Primordial slime → Cells → Amoebas → Things with gills → Salamanders → Macaroni, and other tubular pasta → Sloths → Oprah’s Book Club© → Normal Humans → Hamburgers → Cats → and then….. [drum roll]...
